Sober Toolbox Additions are where we revisit posts from the past that were more focused on the nuts and bolts of recovery, or something you should not have missed just because your new here, and re-post them in our new Sober Toolbox tab. All these posts are from the beginning of 2009.

Over five years old, all these posts were by Gavin, the first discoverer at TDA.  But that toolbox to the right, that’s mine.  Screedler measures things for a living.  That’s a set of micrometers I use almost daily.  The right tools can help you in so many ways; so make sure you are always adding to your sober toolbox.

I love this toolbox. Looking back on things in the past, almost seems like going back into western films – old movies. I’m not sure if that makes any sense, but what I’m saying it that technology and medicine has evolved so much over the years. Stepping back to read stories from others and their journey into recovery makes me realize how great life is today and how my problems seem so small in comparison.

I had lots of meds to help me overcome withdrawals, where as others, in their life stories talk about how difficult it was, with little to no help.

Anyway, kudos to all who are on this journey. I celebrate 4 years sober in September 2014 and loving every moment of clear minded thinking. Well, I may have lost a few brain cells along the path of UN-righteousness, so my mind is as clear as it could be at this time (lol). Regardless, its a great feeling… All the best to those in recovery, seeking recovery and the families who put up with our BS, but didn’t give up.
