Recovery is all about restoring life to its former condition before substance abuse- and then setting in motion a process of continuous improvement. One need not be an alcoholic or addict to benefit from a recovery program, there is always room to make things a little bit more enjoyable or successful… but what about a hamburger?
I have just about gotten out of the habit of eating burgers while on the road in my constant travel; the once unique, great American sandwich these days is usually nothing more than a ubiquitous stamp of frozen meat dolled up with a pretentious title. Not so in little Franklin, KY though, where at Jetter’s Homemade Hamburgers they have returned the burger to its former glory. It may be the equivalent of a caloric JDAM in a coronary war, but while there don’t skip out on the hand cut fries and spun shakes that just might be worth dying for anyway. The place is small, cluttered, and when I visited could have used a mop- but in a way it added to the charm and the friendly staff more than made up for the distraction.

Hint: The burger is really that big, once you grab it- be prepared to wolf it all down because like Humpty D, it can’t be put back together again.
