Shelby County Treatment Center Aces Carf

Congratulations to the Shelby County Treatment Center of Alabama (SCTC) for qualifying once again for a 3-year CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) certification for outpatient opioid treatment. More than that, the CARF surveyors that spent several days digging through the records, observing operations, and interviewing personnel made no recommendations “which signifies they did not identify any areas of nonconformance”. This places the SCTC among an elite group, only 3% of all clinics surveyed attain this distinction.

I’ve led a recovery group at the SCTC for several years now and have always known that their level of care and concern for patients and their community by the counselors, staff, and medical professionals is unmatched in the state- now it’s official.

So I’m sending out a well deserved TDA Salute to Director Susan Staats-Sidwell and the entire team at the SCTC for a job very well done!
