Even assault rifles, rocket propelled grenades, and torture don’t seem so scary when softened by the addition of a couple of fluffy bunnies- ahhh, so cute. It’s sort of the same when I get accused of being a morality nazi by a stoner- kind of takes the sting out of the whole thing when you know the guy behind the barb would lose his battleship to a ferret.
Now I do have a good friend, very intelligent, that both smokes pot and would vote for its legalization. He would like to see it become legal because he wants to get high, not because of any injustice or because it’s a miracle cure. We disagree, but I appreciate his honesty… and respect his intelligence. He doesn’t push his case very hard though because he knows as well as I do that pushing for legalization of marijuana because “I wanna get high” just doesn’t make for a convincing argument.
Gist of the post: I’m intentionally labeling these guys as stoners that come on the site engaging in personal attacks and pushing straw man arguments instead of addressing the subject matter of my posts because they make it difficult for me to take them or their issue seriously (apparently, neither does the President).
