Hitler’s Cheerleader

The American Beverage Institute (ABI) seems to be dead set on making itself look like a horse’s rear over ignition interlocks being used to combat driving under the influence (DUI). First it was in nationwide news print with this infamous ad that used Lindsay Lohan’s mugshot, now they are on the TV news networks once again promoting the right to drive impaired.

What a job this Sarah Longwell has with the ABI, she must feel a little bit like a cheerleader for Hitler. Over the top maybe, but it’s difficult for me to feel any sympathy for a group that is advocating drinking and driving regardless of the amount of alcohol involved.

I think the ABI rep is arguing against it being in all cars, not against DUI laws.

and actively fighting the use of interlocks in ANY cars. She is fighting against interlocks for use in DUI convictions just to prevent the possibility of a future progression of their use. She is willing to dance with devil to get what she wants; I’m not.
