I went and saw Star Wars this weekend and left the theater satisfied  knowing that the direction and future of my beloved movie series seems to be in good hands under the new regime of Disney and company.  Better yet, that’s the feeling I am getting on Michael Botticelli; who along with the new Star Wars director J.J. Abrams were profiled on 60 Minutes last week.

Botticelli is our nations new Director of National Drug Control Policy and like J.J. is taking over a program with a long legacy and plenty at stake.  While Star Wars has been around for forty years and made millions of dollars, the Drug Wars have been going on for as many, with a cost in the trillions.  Star Wars has made millions of fans, while the Drug Wars have put millions in jail.  It’s time for a change and after watching this segment I think you will agree with me when I say “I think there is new hope in the way our nation treats and handles addiction.

This man talks our talk and walks our walk.  You can tell he has a genuine passion for this position and what he hopes to accomplish in this ongoing battle in our galaxy.  May the Force be with you Michael Botticelli.
