Investigators had Amy Winehouse arrested this week for suspicion of drug possession after studying a videotape of her allegedly smoking crack back in January. Leaving little to the imagination, it’s not as if they needed the skills of the famous Warrick Brown of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, played by actor Gary Dourdan, to “crack” this case. Of course this is a good thing, since he was also recently busted for possession of heroin, cocaine, and ectasy.
In this case, I guess my title is a little misleading since Amy was busted by Gary only in the figurative sense of being found side BY side in my local paper that reported their arrests.
He was arrested while asleep in his car on the side of the road after apparently lacking the stamina to make it home from a concert. Mr. Dourdan claims the drugs are not his and were left over from fellow concert attendees.

Come on Gary! You are an actor for Pete’s sake, can’t you come up with a more creative alibi than that!

Some lessons learned here. Amy Winehouse is learning that consequences of her drug often have a very long shelf life and Mr. Dourdan has discovered why the charge he is facing is called “possession”… not ownership.
I wish both of these truly talented people the best of luck in finding happiness and recovery. On a lighter note, I stumbled across this Amy Winehouse parody called “Back to Crack” that I thought was funny. Listen carefully to the changed lyrics.
