Putting My Nose to the Grindstone

by The Discovering Alcoholic on March 21, 2010

Regular readers Iprobably have noticed by now that I am not updating TDA on a daily basis. This was a conscious choice made during my vacation; I forced myself to take a break. Obviously I’m back now though so why not return to almost ritualistic manner of posting I adhered to for 3 years? Well, I consider it more a change in direction than priority. My recovery remains the number one issue in my life, but these changes could be a little misleading unless you realize that my recovery encompasses every aspect of my life. So by moving focus toward certain career goals and different forms of advocacy, it doesn’t mean I ‘m any less committed to my recovery, sobriety, and yes, yours too… I’m just taking another path right now for some fresh scenery.

The site will continue to be updated on a very regular basis, at least 3 to 4 times a week with even more contributions by some very interesting guest bloggers and authors. On the days I’m not writing on the site I’ll by no means be idle; I have a full list of goals and activities set out in black and white and I’m putting my nose to the grindstone. These include new sales goals, language proficiency, and a renewed push on a different recovery writing assignment.

Even though changing directions and there will likely be less posts, I’m confident the path I am taking will also lead to improvements in the quality of content on the site through the acquisition of new skills and different perspectives. If you are disappointed with the reduced frequency in posts, please think about becoming a guest blogger. Drop me a line if you are interested, contact info in the right margin.

Congratulations, TDA, on your new directions!! You provide us with so much — insights, humor, food for thought, recovery thoughts and opportunities, which, of course, you will continue to do….glad to hear you are also looking out for your own recovery needs and goals. All the best!!

I have become less frequent in my blogging and commenting for much the same reason lately. I am focusing on some step work and writing off-blog. I’m happy however often you post, as long as you keep posting. :)
