Hi there all of you fellow AA/NA's out there. Thia is the first time I've posted on this site. So filled with pearls of wisdom & good info from what I've read so far. I've been in the Program since 4/02/1995; I live in Chicago, Il on the Northside of the city & I am a practicing RN x10years. On a part-time basis I work in addictions/chemical dependency on a in-patient unit. It's always an eye-opener when someone comes in with a BAL well over the legal limit still being ravished by the disease. All the consequences of their addiction right there. Alcoholism when it is so active, alive & well.....it frightens even me. Just some thoughts.
As my name implies, Tattoowired, I am into body art big time. Yes tatts do hurt but they look so damn good afterwords. I have 1/2 sleeve's, on both arms.; my back is covered with an AIDS memorial for my brother, Paul who died in 1986; & both my legs-------my right lower leg is covered & my left lower leg has a Hindu goddess representing prosperity-----not in a material sense but rather spiritual. The other pieces I've had done-----I have another goddess on my left arm also represents empowerment & strength. Anyway enough said on that.
I am going on a cruise at the end of July & am hoping to find a couple of good meetings in Miami Beach/South Beach. Anyone familiar with that area that could recommend where to go?
Thanks everyone!
